Poems by Haikal Danial

Broken.

Swiftly, you broke me,
Into pieces, my body,
My heart, in two,
Fragments, swept through.

Dangerous for innocence,
To play with nonsense.
I lost the game of true love,
And you laughed, from above.

Why were you hurting me?
Senselessly, with glee,
I took it all with grace,
My darkness, in space.

But now I’ve broken free,
Not again will you trap me.
My cracks, exposed, seen,
But my mind, clear, clean.

2010.

We would meet again in the forest.
Our promise, 12 years ago,
Memories with my dearest,
Exploring an abandoned chateau,

I was too young to understand,
When Amber alerted my dad of you,
Did you go missing, unplanned?
The boy who kissed me out of the blue,

My 12th New Years alone,
The promise still true,
Years pass and I’ve grown,
But I’ll keep trying to find you,

Motherly.

Months and years go by
Day cycling with night
Never ever will I cry
Loving you with all my might

The purest kind of soul
The light shining on you
Through the lands we stroll
Looking at the amazing view

But good comes to an end
Eventually you pass away
A tragedy I can’t mend
An inevitability that will stay

However sad it is
Lasting memories prevail
The good times I will miss
A world with a strong gale

Nothing will ever waiver
My love for you mother
I offer you my prayer
As you meet your creator
