Sothinathan A/L Kaliappan, commonly known as K. Sothinathan, hails from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Currently, he’s pursuing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) at KPJ University College in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. He had developed a penchant for various activities during his leisure time. These include indulging in music, immersing himself in novels, watching movies, and going for walks in the evenings. As a simple individual driven by curiosity and a desire for exploration, he has consistently been captivated by the expressive power of words in evoking emotions and crafting captivating narratives through poetry. The unwavering support of his parents, teachers, and well-wishers has been a constant source of inspiration throughout his life. Although he has never shared his talent for writing poems with others and has harbored fears about unveiling his work to the world, he’s determined as a beginner on the path to becoming a remarkable poet. Thus, he’s eager to take the leap and share his creations.
Insecurity
I am not enough, that’s what I feel.
A new wound that won’t heal.
Seconds spent worrying I’ll lose my charm,
Every little thing sends me an alarm.
Confidence lost, can I really be loved?
Unable to shake it, it’s become my plight.
Resigned to the fact, I’ll never feel quite right.
In this love game, I’m losing the fight.
Time and time again, I just can’t win.
Yet, I’ll keep trying, for love to come in.
Jealousy
Jealousy creeps in when she’s with other guys,
My mind starts to race, and my heart tells no lies.
I can’t help but feel, a sense of distrust,
As I watch her smile and freely adjust.
To the attention, the flattery she receives,
It’s a poison, that my love and trust grieves.
Why does she need, the approval of others?
Can’t she see, she already has a lover?
I try to shake it, this jealousy inside,
Reminding myself that she chose me as her guide.
But the feelings persist, and won’t subside,
Making me question if she’ll always abide.
So, I’ll take a step back, and breathe in the air,
Try to trust, that she truly does care.
For me and our love, she’ll always be true,
And my jealousy will fade, I promise to.

Your compliments, my heart does blaze.
I bask in your love, and your kind words,
My confidence, by your support, is heard.
No longer do I shy away,

Together we walk, with a sense of warm touch,
Compromises we make, to lead a life so bright.
We listen and we learn, from each other’s views,
To find a way, that’s good for me and you.
